Louisa County is conveniently located between Richmond, Charlottesville and Fredericksburg. The county still maintains a lot of its rural character. The Zion Crossroads area, which is located in the western part of the county along Interstate 64, is a growing destination for many subdivisions as well as several industrial and commercial centers. One of the most recent developments is Spring Creek, which is a gated golf course community within easy commuting distance of both Charlottesville and Richmond.

In the northeastern section of Louisa is Lake Anna, a wonderful recreational community built around the lake.
