Augusta County is located in the beautiful Shenandoah Valley of Virginia and is just a short and very scenic drive from Charlottesville. Staunton and Waynesboro are the major towns in the county. Staunton is undergoing an extensive revitalization with many of the old Victorian homes in the city being renovated as well as many new shops opening in the downtown area.
One of the major attractions in Staunton is the Black Friars Shakespearean Theatre. Mary Baldwin College as well as Woodrow Wilson's home and Presidential Library are located in Staunton.
Augusta County is the largest county in the state of Virginia. As a result there are many large farms scattered across the countryside. The county is conveniently located with Interstates 64 and 81 intersecting in the county.
